About Us

In truth, this page is less ‘About Us’, and more ‘Why us?’

Our clients invest good money to work with us on the Aligned Founder programme, so we know they’ll want to know for sure we’re the right team to support them for the days, weeks, and months ahead.

As a Founder with big ambitions and high standards, you’ll want to know about the
qualifications that prove we’ve got the education and accreditation to do what we do.
But more importantly, you’ll want to understand our beliefs and lived experiences that
have helped shape this programme that’s changing so many Founders’ lives for the
better.

With the Aligned Founder, our work isn’t something we do. It’s something we live.

Adam Smith

I’m a big believer in the impact of unlocking the unconscious mind, so training in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) has become such a huge part of my coaching work. I’m also a Timeline Therapist, and this really helps my clients to remove their blockers and their feelings of being ‘stuck’ – in life, or in business. I’m nothing if not an advocate for deeper connection in humans. We live in a world where everyone’s looking for a quick fix, or for shortcuts, or for AI to swoop in and somehow save them… and I just don’t live or work like that. If I can help our clients find, create, and
experience deeper connection, then I’m doing the best job possible. All good coaches work with a coach themselves, so coaching is always a non-negotiable part
of my own development.

For me, an Aligned Founder is someone whose behaviours and actions truly match their values. They’re someone who doesn’t just find fulfilment and purpose, they create those things in their lives, too. You can try every fad in fashion or go through years of therapy and never experience the breakthroughs that I’ve professionally proven I can help my clients make in under 60 minutes of simply sitting down to do the proper inner work. It’s a bold claim, but I’m a bold guy – and I’ve got the bold results to prove it.

Though I truly believe that going alcohol-free was a huge and positive turning point in my own life, there was a real feeling of losing my sense of self and not knowing who I really was once I stopped drinking alcohol. I had become a people pleaser and wore a kind of mask most of my life due to never feeling good enough as myself. I created a character in the hope that people would like me and accept me, but in reality, it made everything worse and I suffered so much more because of it. I ran a successful business, but I knew it wasn’t enough, and it felt more like a job than something I was in control of and enjoying. I’ve done a lot of inner work to be who I am and where I am today, and now my own purpose is to make sure I can help fellow Founders find theirs.

A word on Mayhew… he’s the Yin to my Yang. Mayhew balances me out and helps me to become more centred. I think he’s able to do this not just because of his training, but because of the good human he naturally is, too. Working with Mayhew means that decisions are made more effectively, because when I speak with him, I instantly feel more measured in my thinking. Mayhew has a real sense of calm about him, and this is beneficial not only to me, but to our clients, too. They warm so quickly to him and feel relaxed in his presence. He’s also an amazing coach and my best mate… and I wouldn’t want to be doing this work with anyone else.

In my coaching work and also in my own personal life, Mindfulness is a solid foundation for everything I do. In recent years, I’ve spent a lot of time studying with the UK College of Mindfulness and Meditation (under Jack Kornfield) to become a Mindfulness Teacher and Mindset Coach, which allows me to work with our clients to really focus on what’s important, what it means to be present, and what’s in need of focus in their lives. With Nutrition having a key role in the work we do to boost the health and wellness of our clients during their time with us, I’m pleased to bring my training as a qualified Nutritional Therapist to the table. I also hold a license as a Health Practitioner with the Complementary and Natural Health Care Council (CNHC), and take pride in the work I do to uphold their high standards.

I’ve never seen the point in building a business if you can’t switch off from it at best, or ‘need a drink’ to de-stress and escape from it at worst. The same applies if you can’t set or honour boundaries, and if your values don’t in any way match with your behaviours. I want our clients to bring these things into balance – and they will, when they commit to the Aligned Founder programme. I genuinely believe that the constraints that hold men back from alignment and freedom – despite their success in business – are mental more than anything else. Through mindfulness, awareness, and even stillness… I help them find that freedom.

In my own life and business, I’ve experienced feeling anything but aligned. I’ve even experienced hitting rock bottom. Twice, in fact. The first time I was young, in debt, and believed that running away to travel the world whilst drinking heavily was the right answer. I may have eventually faced up to things and worked hard to clear my debt, but even when I met my amazing partner, built a successful business, and seemingly ‘had it all’, I was still deep into the habit of running away and drinking heavily because I felt so stuck. That second ‘hit’ hurt hardest, because I had everything, and risked losing it all. I will do everything I can to help fellow Founders avoid living that life.

A word on Smith… he’s incredibly driven. He doesn’t just keep our clients accountable – he keeps me accountable, too, which makes our partnership stronger every single day. Smith is a great listener and has a lot of empathy. He’s also really good at creating safe and non-judgmental spaces for our clients to open up to us. Smith is able to see things that I perhaps can’t see myself, and his first assessment of a situation is usually spot on. Smith’s very focused, but he’s also a lot of fun, which is important in a business partner, but even more important in a coach. It’s no wonder our clients gravitate so quickly and closely to him when working with us on this programme.

We’ve both experienced what it’s like to chase success while losing sight of what matters.

A-Game exists to help founders avoid making the same mistake. To create more clarity, better health, stronger relationships and a life that feels aligned, not just successful on paper.

Reach out, we are an open book.
