Hear from Richard himself:
A lot has happened over the last 12 months, some of it great and some of it fairly crap (more to come on this very soon…..), but I’m pleased to say that I’m now in an infinitely better place mentally than I have been for many years. This is in the main down to the work I’ve done and time I’ve spent with two incredible fellas – Adam Smith & Adam Mayhew and their awesome business A-Game which has given me, and many others, a platform to talk openly and freely about how I feel without fear of judgement 🗣️❤️
No doubt there’ll be some people reading this thinking “Why would you talk so openly about this on here?!” and my response to that is “Why wouldn’t I?” 🤷♂️
Talking openly and honestly about my #mentalhealth has been one of the most useful and important things I’ve done in managing it and I now see my experience of having poor mental health as somewhat of a superpower…….it gives me strength when I reflect on how bad I felt but yet I’ve been able to make positive changes to become more resilient to what’s going on up there 🧠 and I owe much of this to Adam & Adam.
So with it being #menshealthawareness month, I wanted to let others know that there is help out there if you’re struggling. Therapy didn’t work for me and my GP wasn’t particularly helpful either. But these two incredible people helped me re-frame my negative thoughts and remove the limiting beliefs which I now realise had been holding me back for a long time.
It’s not been easy, but making some simple changes to the way I was living my life has had a truly transformational impact………after all, if nothing changes then nothing changes.
